Today is also day 90 of this whole experiment, so I went back over the drawing-each-day album with my Mum. She was drawn to items she uses everyday, the kitchen things, the grandkids toys, the clothes, and lastly, the portraits. This led me to reflect that it is the everyday items of peoples life that draw them into art. A magical bond between the objects and experiences that comprise our consciousness. Portraits, unlike anything else, are universal, other people's faces enter everyone's life, and therefore, are one of the best studies and forms to pursue, if not, one of the most difficult and open to criticism.
My commitment to learn how to capture the beauty of the world with lines on paper. Thanks for your visit.

Michael Pollan
Today I drew food author Michael Pollan, who I rather like.
